Why don't you need a negative coronavirus test to leave isolation?
According to the CDC, research has shown that people aren't likely to be infectious 10 to 20 days after symptoms first began, regardless of test results.

Conley did not detail what "advanced diagnostic tests" the President had received. For example, he did not say whether so-called viral culture was performed. That's the process by which scientists try to infect living cells to see whether active virus is present.

Conley also didn't disclose other vital signs from the President, such as his current oxygen levels -- leaving many questions about Trump's current condition unanswered.

Fauci says he was taken out of context in new Trump campaign ad touting coronavirus response
Dr. Anthony Fauci did not consent to being featured in a new advertisement from the Trump campaign touting President Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, the nation's leading infectious disease expert told CNN his words were taken out of context.

"In my nearly five decades of public service, I have never publicly endorsed any political candidate. The comments attributed to me without my permission in the GOP campaign ad were taken out of context from a broad statement I made months ago about the efforts of federal public health officials," Fauci said in a statement provided exclusively to CNN when asked if he agreed to be featured in the ad.

... Though no date is provided in the ad, Fauci's quote is from an interview with Fox News in March. During that interview, Fauci praised the White House coronavirus task force's round-the-clock effort to respond to the pandemic, which he says included numerous White House meetings and late-night phone calls.

... On ABC News Sunday, Jon Karl, who was guest hosting "This Week," said he requested Fauci for an interview, and although he was willing to come on, the White House blocked the appearance. Karl said other medical experts on the task force were also requested, but the White House did not offer anyone.

Dr. Fauci says Trump campaign 'in effect harassing' him after using a clip of him praising the US COVID-19 response out of context in a campaign ad
  • Top US infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci slammed the Trump campaign for using his words out of context and without his consent in a recent political ad.
  • "By doing this against my will, they are in effect harassing me," Fauci told The Daily Beast Monday.
  • The infectious disease expert told CNN over the weekend that his words, from a press conference in March, were taken out of context.
  • He appeared in the campaign ad seemingly praising President Donald Trump for the US coronavirus response.
  • In the ad, Fauci said, "I can't imagine that anybody could be doing more," in terms of acting on the onset of the COVID-19 outbreaks in the US, but the line was in reference to the work of the task force, not the president specifically.
  • While Fauci slammed the move, he told The Daily Beast Monday that there was "not a chance" that he would resign from the task force in the event that the Trump campaign ran another ad with him in it.

New York's Roosevelt Hotel to close after nearly 100 years due to the coronavirus pandemic
The New York City landmark was the election headquarters for Gov. Thomas Dewey when he incorrectly announced he defeated Harry Truman in the 1948 presidential election. It has served as the backdrop for movies such as "The Irishman" and it helped start a New Year's Eve tradition.

A fixture of the Manhattan skyline, the hotel boasts elegant architecture and is minutes away from Times Square and Grand Central Terminal.

But now, The Roosevelt Hotel will no longer bear witness to motion pictures or moments in history.

3 ... "Due to the current, unprecedented environment and the continued uncertain impact from COVID-19, the owners of The Roosevelt Hotel have made the difficult decision to close the hotel and the associates were notified this week," the statement read. "The iconic hotel, along with most of New York City, has experienced very low demand and as a result the hotel will cease operations before the end of the year. There are currently no plans for the building beyond the scheduled closing."

10,000 mink are dead in Covid-19 outbreaks at US fur farms after virus believed spread by humans
Thousands of mink have died at fur farms in Utah and Wisconsin after a series of coronavirus outbreaks.

In Utah, ranchers have lost at least 8,000 mink to Covid-19 among the animals known for their silky, luxurious pelts.

The virus first appeared in the creatures in August, shortly after farmworkers fell ill in July, according to Dr. Dean Taylor, State Veterinarian of Utah. Initial research shows the virus was transmitted from humans to animals, and so far has not seen any cases of the opposite.

"Everything we've looked at here in Utah suggests its gone from the humans to the animals," Taylor told CNN. "It feels like a unidirectional path," he said, adding that testing is still underway. Utah's was the first outbreak among mink in the United States.

... The USDA's National Veterinary Services Laboratories has confirmed cases of SAR-CoV-2 -- the virus that causes Covid-19 -- in dozens of other animals, including dozens of dogs, cats, a lion, and a tiger.

Mink, which are closely related to weasels, otter and ferrets, appear to suffer similar symptoms to humans. Difficulty breathing and crusting around the eyes are usually seen, but the virus progresses rapidly, and most infected mink are dead by the next day, according to Taylor.

It's unclear what makes mink such a susceptible species, while others appear to be unaffected.

The NFL postpones the Broncos-Patriots game after team reports a positive Covid-19 test
The team was Covid-19 free as of Friday, but the Patriots confirmed to CNN that they had one positive test on Sunday, and they have closed their practice facilities as a precaution.

The Tennessee Titans also had to close their facilities because of a positive Covid-19 test. They are still scheduled to play the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday.

Last week, Patriots quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for coronavirus, and the Patriots game against the Kansas City Chiefs was rescheduled. The Titans also had to cancel their game against the Steelers.

Uganda’s Low COVID-19 Cases Due to Restrictions, Not Hydroxychloroquine
Uganda has had relatively low numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths — but not because of hydroxychloroquine, as an article on social media claims. Uganda’s guidelines initially included the use of the drug as an experimental medication, but studies showed it made no difference. Instead, the country implemented a strict lockdown and mask mandate that has limited the virus’ spread.
